These publications are also used at business missions organised by the Chamber. They also frequently complete the materials used by the local authorities to promote the economical potential of Lower-Silesia.
II. Informal contacts
The membership gives the possibility of making informal contacts not only with business institutions drawn around the Chamber, but also with celebrities from our region. Making such contacts is enabled at various meetings, such as:
Business Club meeting, which takes place every first Monday of a month in Gospoda Wrocławska, Sukiennice 7, at 5.30 p.m. These meetings serve not only to bring together the members to discuss and exchange their experience, but also to contact government and parliament representatives and notables of the city.Chief executives of institutions connected with economy, such as Customs Office, Chief Board of Supervision, Social Insurance Institution, etc., are often invited to our monthly meetings.
- Sporting events
- annual Business Cup - tennis tournament for businessmen
- football matches between the Chamber's businessmen team and the celebrities of Wrocław team
- basketball tournaments and other sporting events
- other social meetings like Christmas and carnival parties.
III. Contacts in Poland and abroad
As the Chamber receives a lot of business information, it is a place where one can make contact and exchange experience with others.
- There is a department of business information and foreign co-operation. The department's aim is to create the system of information and promotion, mainly by developing the available sources and making more contacts in Poland and abroad.
- The Chamber organises business missions to other countries and meets foreign business representatives in Wrocław.
- The Chamber organises markets of co-operation.
- Foreign business representatives often ask the Chamber to search for Polish business partners. In such situations the Chamber contacts them with its member companies in the first place.
- The Chamber has got a number of foreign companies' offers, which are available for all whom they may concern.
- The Chamber co-operates with many foreign and bilateral chambers of commerce. This co-operation enables making contacts between companies from different countries. We believe that such contacts are the best way to realise the idea of European co-operation.
IV. Recommendation for the member companies
- Nowadays there are many infamous companies on the market. Potential partners often want to get some information about the credibility of a company.
- In such situations the Lower-Silesian Chamber of Commerce always recommends its members as reliable partners for business activities.
V. Business sections
There are business sections which bring together the companies undertaking the same or similar business activities. The sections' aim is not to compete, but to defend common interests, eliminate dishonest competition, and to create the lobby that would express and stand up for common objectives. There are 10 sections working at the moment:
- the Lower-Silesian Chamber of Tourism,
- Section of Restaurant Owners,
- Trade Section,
- Transport Section,
- Chamber of Real Estate,
- Automobile Section,
- Section of Financial Institutions,
- Section of Foreign Capital Companies,
- Power Engineering Section, and Section of Consulting and Training Companies. The Lower-Silesian Chamber of Commerce is going to support the creation of new business sections, which is expected to happen soon. We believe that a group can represent its interest better than an individual, mainly due to the limited possibilities of expressing the demands of the latter.
VI. AUMA System (Fairs)
The Lower-Silesian Chamber of Commerce provides the companies with the fairs database. Having access to the AUMA system, we can search for and process any information about any kind of fairs.
VII. Training
- In order to keep to the requirement of improving qualifications and to introduce the principles of modern management, the Lower-Silesian Chamber of Commerce (co-)organises training, seminars and conferences for specialists and middle management. The training organised by well-qualified staff provides the trainees with broad knowledge on the studied subject.
- The chamber gives free tax advice.
VII. European Union
In the Chamber you can get information about UE funds for business development. Having access to such information is especially important at the present moment when Wrocław has become a capital of a large region. Consequently, there are better chances to get more funds. Thus the Chamber helps businessmen to find out about all national and EU funds.
